OPEN INVITATIONAL MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENT
On behalf of the organizing committee, the international martial arts community, and the legacy of Soke Lil John Davis, it is our honor to welcome you to the Soke Lil John Davis Martial Arts Open Invitational, held October 22–24, 2027, in the beautiful city of Nassau, Bahamas.
This year’s event marks a historic milestone. For the first time, we are hosting an unprecedented Grand Championship, featuring an anticipated 2,000 male competitors and 1,000 female competitors from around the world. Your presence here places you among an elite group of martial artists who have committed themselves to excellence, discipline, and the warrior spirit.
Throughout this three‑day event, you will experience not only world‑class competition, but also the rich culture and hospitality of the Bahamian people. From the opening night’s entertainment to Saturday’s full day of competition and evening banquet, and finally to Sunday’s closing Junkanoo celebration, this invitational is designed to honor both your skill and your journey.
As a competitor, you represent the highest standards of martial arts. We ask that you uphold the values of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship throughout the event. Your dedication inspires others, strengthens our global community, and carries forward the legacy of Soke Lil John Davis.

Early registration for the Open Invitational Martial Arts Tournament provides competitors and schools with exclusive discounted benefits designed to support participation and ensure a smooth tournament experience. Those who register in advance receive reduced entry fees, priority placement in divisions, and guaranteed inclusion in all scheduled events. Early registration also allows tournament officials to finalize rings, brackets, and judging assignments with greater accuracy, ensuring a fair and efficient competition for all athletes.
ABOUT US
Kumite Ryu Jujitsu literally means “Sparring Style,” is more often called “the School of Survival”. It is a style of jujitsu characterized by fierce fighting, grappling and self-defense. The Kumite Ryu Jujitsu School of Survival was founded in Harlem, NYC, by Soke Li’l” John Davis.

Kumite‑Ryu students are expected to continually refine both body and mind by perfecting their form and applying their technical knowledge in new ways to meet unexpected situations. Although it is primarily a hand‑to‑hand system, it also includes instruction in the use of select weapons.
